Italian cider at The Italian Awards

This weekend, we were delighted to be the official cider sponsor for The Italian Awards, celebrating the very best of Italian hospitality in England.

The evening, at Manchester’s Principal Hotel, began with aperitivo including our Angioletti Secco, Rosé and Mela Rossa craft Italian ciders.

Later on, we watched with excitement as 14 award winners were announced…

Angioletti craft Italian cider on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch

Angioletti Secco craft Italian cider is featured on national television in the UK!  Gabe Cook (aka The Ciderologist) presented a feature on sparkling ciders as alternatives to sparkling wine on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch show.

Angioletti was chosen by three out of the four panelists (Vogue Williams, Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy) as their favourite cider!

Best quote came from Simon Rimmer: “that is nicer than Prosecco!”

where to find our Italian cider

We’re often asked where Angioletti craft Italian ciders are available in the UK; and whilst we sometimes stumble across our products in unexpected places (!!), here are a few options…

If you’re looking to enjoy our ciders with a nice meal in a restaurant, Angioletti Secco is available nationally in Carluccio’s restaurants (who also stock our craft beers Bionda Trentina and Biava) and Veeno Wine Cafés, and Angioletti Mela Rossa is available in Bella Italia and Jamie’s Italian restaurants; not forgetting lots of independent restaurants up and down the country!

Growing interest in Italian craft cider

Since we launched Angioletti UK at the start of 2016, as we approach the half year point, we are really beginning to see a spike in interest for our craft Italian ciders.  Our Mela Rossa craft Italian cider launched in Bella Italia restaurants nationwide in April, Angioletti craft Italian cider is launching in another national Italian restaurant chain next month, and we have several more very high profile launches to follow in the second half of the year, in both on-premise and retail sectors.

Thanks and best wishes for 2016!

With the ‘official’ UK launch of Angioletti now upon us, it’s “go, go, go!!” time for us as we introduce our products to customers and consumers, however, firstly it is important for us to say a HUGE thanks to all the people that have made it possible for us to get this far.  So, in no particular order…

So, craft Italian cider? Never heard of it?!

Well, you probably haven’t; cider or ‘sidro’ in Italy is quite a rare sight, and there’s one fairly unsavoury character to blame for this, and his name is Benito Mussolini…  Among a few other ill-considered decisions, he forbade the fermentation of all other fruit other than grapes so as to support the Italian wine industry.  Good news for Italian wine, bad news for Italian cider!

The Magic of Angioletti

Discovering the home of Angioletti craft Italian cider is a wonderful journey.  As you leave behind the beautiful city of Verona, with it’s famous roman amphitheatre and Romeo and Juliet balcony, and travel north, parallel to Lake Garda, as the Dolomite mountains become increasingly imposing, on the road towards Trento and Bolzano, ‘wine country’ starts turning to ‘apple country’…
